Open letter to the congregation

To all members of St. Simeon’s:

At a recent Vestry meeting, discussion took place concerning the development of St. Simeon’s Church. A committee consisting of Pet Farmer, Edna Hall, Rev. Paul Tidman and Andy Mason was formed to discuss this topic further. This group has met twice and reported back to the Vestry at a meeting on Dec. 18.

Please click on the read more for more information and for meeting dates.

The committee’s recommendation was that we meet with members of the congregation to discuss this topic. People will be asked to respond to the following 6 questions.

1.   What do you remember most about your experiences in church?
2.   What type or kind of worship/service is relevant to you and to your family?
3.   Idealistically how do you visualize St. Simeon’s in 5-10 years?
4.   What additional services/activities would be of interest to you at St. Simeon’s?
5.   What strategies could we use to move in the direction that you see?
6.   How could you contribute to attaining this vision of St. Simeon’s?

These questions will be used to help our understanding of the issues and hopefully to generate positive ideas as to how we, as a church, move forward.

Members of the congregation are asked to reflect on these questions as they relate to St. Simeon’s Church.

Dates and times of meetings will be announced in church and on our website www.parishoflachute.ca within the next few weeks. We encourage your participation in these discussions.
